Working groups
From time to time EuHPN convenes working groups to review existing practice, to promote new thinking, and to establish reference services that reflect the key growth areas in the field of health property. The working groups usually comprise a permanent core of experts who set the agenda, commission research, and may draw on advice and expertise from consultants from research groups, government agencies, and the private sector. Previous working groups have been:
- Financing and Procurement: to investigate alternative capital investment models; new thinking in procurement, global and European trends in health infrastructure financing.
- Strategic Asset Planning: to look at how to match future asset investment strategy to new insights and concepts in health service planning and delivery.
- Architecture Design: to evaluate the latest thinking in architectural and engineering approaches to the construction of healthcare facilities.
The most recent working group, which included representatives from the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies, was set up to collect information and conduct analysis for the joint EuHPN / European Observatory Investing in hospitals of the future Study (forthcoming, 2009).
