In 2008 the Italian Ministry of Labour, Health and Social Policy published this report on the challenge of health improvement in a regionalized framework. The report describes one response to this challenge - 'CCM' network, a collaborative framework for 'active prevention'. It analyses the approach to stewardship and performance assessment, in the context of the Italian National Health Service, and provides a thorough case study example through the Umbria Document for the Evaluation of Health Determinants and System Strategies (DVSS).
